In the 1990's JB helped organize free legal clinics for immigrants. When JB learned about Legal Shield (formally, Pre-Paid Legal Services), she found that it was an ideal service for the folks she worked with. Since joining LegalShield, JB has been able to help hundreds of folks gain affordable access to the legal system and help their families “feel safe.”

In addition to Legal Shield, JB owns and operates DRAGA design, both of which are certified green businesses. JB makes her home in East Oakland with her partner and companion animals.
